Emergency care
When you're dealing with a medical emergency, seconds count. It's vital to get the care you need from a staff that's equipped to help. There's no need to type "emergency room near me" into your phone if you live in Pendleton or the surrounding area. Come to St. Anthony Hospital for quick, expert care.
A comprehensive emergency department
Our emergency department (ED) has 11 rooms dedicated to providing emergency care. We offer treatment for illnesses and injuries 24 hours a day.
When you first enter the ED, a triage process conducted by a registered nurse is used to assess the severity of your medical emergency. If you're dealing with a life-threatening issue, such as a heart attack or a stroke, you will be treated first.
We work hard to provide prompt care in our emergency room. However, our staff often attends to multiple patients at any given time, and your wait may be longer than expected. Your needs will be attended to with the same attention as others, as quickly as possible.
Do you need the ER?
The emergency room is devoted to illnesses and injuries that are so serious that they put your life at risk. If you're dealing with these symptoms, an emergency room is an appropriate place to get care. Examples include:
- Breathing difficulty
- Chest pain
- Coughing or vomiting blood
- Loss of consciousness
- Obvious fracture
- Pregnancy complications
- Severe abdominal pain
- Severe lacerations
- Stroke
- Sudden dizziness or weakness
- Uncontrollable bleeding
- Vision changes
If you're dealing with a different type of medical issue, we can help. The CHI St. Anthony Hospital Family Clinic has doctors, nurses and other medical staffers on hand to offer quick care.
